Children of Elias Stileman III
and Ruth Maynard

Elias - little known. In 1650 Thomas Lambert of Salem was fined for striking him. In 1662-1663 either he or his father appraised Essex County estates. He married in April 1667 Ruth Mannyard (Maynard) , had a Great Island grant in March of 1668/9; died before his father. Only known child: Ruth, married 1st in NH 5 Sep 1687 William Bussell, married 2nd after 1 June 1691 Richard Tarlington (Tarlton). Ruth's will, 1708 lists cousin Mary Atkinson of Newcastle (whose maiden name is unknown) and cousin Ruth Langford of Salem. The latter was the former Ruth Mansfield, daughter of Paul and Damaris (Stileman) (Laskins) Mansfield of Salem. It is possible that Damaris was a younger sister or half-sister of Elias, and it is noted that Mr. Elias Stileman was bondsman in Salem Court for James Harmon who quarreled and made advances toward Damaris Laskins and Bathshua Raymond.
