Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Tuesday in the Milton S.D.B. church for Mrs. J. H. Burdick who died Sunday in a convalescents home in Janesville. Rev. Carroll L. Hill officiated and Kenneth Babcock sang two selections. Burial wasin Milton cemetery with Rev. W. D. Burdick, Prof. W. D. Burdick, Prof. D. N. Inglis, L. A. Babcock, R. L. Hull and Elston Shaw acting as pallbearers. Out of town relatives attending were Mr.and Mrs. Percy Burdick of Rockford and son S/Sgt. David Burdickof Spokane, Wash.
Clara Lenore Stillman, daughter of Jarius M. and LenoreLangworthy Stillman, was born Jan. 6, 1869, at Potters Hill, R.I., her mother dying at her birth. She was taken into the home of her grandparents, the William L. Langworthys, Watch Hill, R.I., where she grew to womanhood. She attended the Boston Conservatory of Music, Alfred University and Milton College, receiving special musical training in all these schools. Her father, Dr. J. M. Stillman, was director of vocal music in Milton College for many years. She possessed a soprano voice ofunusual quality, in which her father took great pride.
While attending Milton College, she met Dr. Justin H. Burdick, a practicing physician in Milton, to whom she was married Sept. 2, 1898, at Watch Hill, R. I. Dr. Burdick brought his bride to his Milton home on High street. Both were interested in church and civic affairs.
Dr. Burdick was killed in an automobile accident April 3, 1939, in which Mrs. Burdick was critically injured. She had 13 bones fractured and she never fully recovered. She was a patient in Mercy hospital, Janesville, for a time prior to the last three weeks of her life in the convalescent home where she died. Survivors are the three sons, William, Robert and Roger, and two daughters, Ruth and Phyllis, and seven grandchildren.

Robert L. Langworthy, 80, of 527 Rogers, Milton, died Sunday Morning, June 3, at Edgerton Memorial Hospital.
Born Sept. 30, 1903, in Milton, he married Margaret Hutchins on Sept. 25, 1927 in Rockford, Ill. He was an electrician with Wisconsin Power and Light for more than 50 years, retiring in 1969. He was a member of the Seventh Day Baptist Church, Milton, the Pioneer Club of Wisconsin Power and Light, and the Wednesday Golf League at Oakridge Country Club.
Surviving are his wife; three sons, Robert of Boulder, Colo., Kay of Janesville and Keith of Sanger, Texas; two daughters, Carolyn Payne of Youngstown, Ohio, and Eleanor Sheppard of West Palm Beach, Fla.; two brothers, Roger of Milton and Clifford of Tuscon, Ariz.; 22 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Wednesday in the Seventh Day Baptist Church, with burial in Milton Cemetery. Albrecht Funeral Home was incharge of the arrangements.

Roger M. Burdick, 84, of 710 Campus St., died Thursday, April25, 1991 at Rock Haven in Janesville.
He was born in Milton on Dec. 9, 1906, the son of Dr. J. H. and Clara (Stillman) Burdick. He married Sylvia Kutzke on Aug. 1,1931; she died Sept. 29, 1966. On Feb. 16, 1968, he married Margaret Lowther Smitley. He graduated from Milton College in 1929 where he was active in sports, earning letters in football, basketball and tennis. Mr. Burdick was also in the Milton College Glee Club. He received the Milton College Athletic Award in 1966 and was inducted into the Milton College Hall of Fame in 1985. Mr. Burdick continued to be a sports enthusiastall of his life and was an avid tennis player for 64 years. He was a member of the Milton Seventh Day Baptist Church, the Milton Historical Society and Kiwanis Club. He was a past member of the Odd Fellows Lodge and the Milton Choral Union. Mr. Burdick worked for the Milton Electric Company which was founded by his father. He was a meter reader at the age of 13 and then worked for more than 40 years in the engineering department.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; one son, Dr. Malcolm(Kathie) Burdick of Cedar Hill, Texas; one daughter, Emelyn Kalinowski of San Ramon, Calif; three step-daughters, Carolyn (Charlie) Brown of Milton, Mary Ellen (Richard) Steinke of Janesville, and Ginny (Tom) Otto of Stevens Point; 13 grandchildren; and one brother, Clifford of Tucson, Ariz.
Funeral services were Monday, April 29 at 2 p.m. at the Milton Seventh Day Baptist Church. A memorial fund has been established in his name. Albrecht Funeral Home of Milton handled the arrangements.
