ROBERT A. L. MENZIES
October 25, 1913 - September 7, 2000

Died peacefully in Greenbrae surrounded by his family on Thursday, September 7, 2000. He was a native of Marin County for his 86 years. Bob is survived by his devoted wife, Mary, for 54 years; loving father of Rob from Weed; Mimi from Sacramento; grandchildren, Vanessa from Chino, Dillon and Sarah from Ojai, and his loving sister Mary M. Page from Carmel Valley. He will be sorely missed by many, including his nieces, nephews, son-in-law Harold and daughter-in-law, Mary.

Bob was born and reared in San Rafael, where his parents were one of the first families to live there. He spent many years between San Rafael and a house in Bear Valley Ranch in Point Reyes where he learned and loved nature and the outdoors. Bob was a member of the Lagunitas Club, was an avid duck hunter and loved fishing and playing tennis.

Bob was Vice President of Parrott & Company, one of the oldest import-export companies in San Francisco and in 1977 started Parrot Company, Inc.

He served in the U.S. Army Infantry for five years and received three Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star while serving in the South Pacific during World War II.

At his request, there will be no services. Donations may be made to Save the Redwood League or the Marin Agricultural Land Trust (MALT). Funeral arrangements were made by the Neptune Society of Northern California.
