Obituary: WILLIAM J. STILLMAN, 71, of Waretown, formerly of Haworth, died Saturday. Before retiring in 1988, he was an engineer and project supervisor, and owned WJS Consultants for 10 years. A 1942 graduate of Union College, he wrote "Construction Practices for Project Managers and Superintendents," had taught at the Mechanics Institute, New York City, and was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the American Arbitration Association. He was a parishioner of St. Pius X R.C. Church, Forked River, and a former assistant scout master with the Boy Scouts in Haworth and Closter. Surviving are his wife, Marion Burger Stillman; two daughters, Nancy L. Baumann of East Windsor and Mary S. Sundra of Northfield; a son, William J. of Hopewell Junction, N.Y.; a sister, Evangeline Diehl of Ocean City, Md., and three grandchildren. Mass will be said Thursday at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Haworth, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, Westfield. Visiting will be Wednesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Frech Funeral Home, Dumont. Donations to Southern Ocean County Hospital, Manahawkin, or to the Waretown First Aid Squad would be appreciated. (Bergen obit page)
