From Clarence Stuart Stillman - great grandson - on 25 Nov 2003;
I have recently perused a copy of my great-Grandfather's Arthur (1835) Certificate of Marriage which furnishes some missing details.
Arthur married Emily Davies at Kilmore, Victoria, Australia on 31st July 1858.
Arthur was 22 years of age as at that date which confirms his year of birth circa 1835. The Certificate of Marriage shows that he resided in Kilmore and his profession was "Chemist and Druggist".
Emily Davies was 19 years of age at the date of the marriage which places her date of birth circa 1839. She was born in St James, Westminster, London and her "Rank or Profession" shown on the Certificate of Marriage is "Lady".
St James, Westminster is of course the Royal precinct in London and my enquiries suggest that a 19 year old "Lady" from St James was probably born to a family in service to one of the royal homes, where she herself, would become a "Lady in Waiting" in due course.
It is interesting to note that Emily's first son (my Grandfather) was named "Clarence Davies Stillman" (1859), Davies being her maiden name and Clarence perhaps her place of her birth and subsequent residence, Clarence House, St James, Westminster?

Charles Edward Stillman was - according to his death certificate - born in Steeple Ashton, Wiltshire County, England and like Thomas was a Doctor. Charles arrived per the S.S. Beemah ex Calcutta on 3 Apr 1857 and was Public Vaccinator and Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths in Reedy Creek in 1859. Charles was accidentally drowned in Reedy Creek on 29 Oct 1860. Unmarried, Charles Edward Stillman was buried in Kilmore.
